Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture.
- Stir until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C. Shape the dough into a baguette, place it on a floured baking sheet, and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Make diagonal cuts on the surface of the baguette and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
